All seasons are great for wandering through the Village where you'll discover
some wonderful small shops and hidden paths through gorgeous gardens, as well
as many fine dining opportunities. The arts thrive in Mendocino with theater,
music, and numerous art galleries. There are also great outdoor activities to
explore like walking along a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean, hiking to a
waterfall or through pine and redwood forests, ocean and river kayaking, and
bicycling just to name a few. And of course when it’s time to unwind, enjoy a
relaxing hot tub, sauna and a therapeutic massage at Sweetwater Gardens Spa.
Remember, with lodging at Sweetwater Inn and Mendocino Village Inn, you get unlimited
use of the community tub and sauna, and always a discount on massage. So pamper yourself
and stretch your visit into a truly memorable holiday.
Winter on the Mendocino Coast can bring a chance to witness the spectacular power of a
Pacific storm. We can have howling wind, torrential rain, roaring thunder and huge
crashing waves. Then the sky will clear exposing patches of deep blue amongst towering
cumulous clouds giving a chance to button up your coat and enjoy a crisp walk. This is a
great time to enjoy sitting by the fire with a good book and maybe a glass of wine from one
of our superb Mendocino County wineries. And day or night, wouldn’t a hot tub and massage be
great? For the holidays there are lots of festive activities in the Village like local art and
craft fairs and Christmas Inn Tours. Why not give yourself a gift this year and get away from
the hustle and bustle to enjoy a truly memorable vacation. Or how about a Gift Certificate for
someone you love? Check our specials page for winter discounts and special events.

Spring is a time of renewal on the Coast. Wildlife is abundant from birds and deer, to whales and
wildflowers. From seabirds like cormorants, to land lovers like robins and hummingbirds, you’ll
enjoy bird watching at its finest. You’ll most likely see spotted Bambis trailing behind their
moms (so drive extra carefully). Spring also offers great whale watching as the Gray whales
migrate north escorting their young close to land. Our hills start turning green in early
spring bringing on a profusion of early wildflowers starting with bright yellow patches of
daffodils and wild purple iris. The Botanical Gardens are a special treat in Spring when the
rhododendrons start to bloom. Oh yeah, don’t forget that relaxing hot tub, sauna, and massage at our spa!

Summer is delightful on the Mendocino Coast. Our moderate weather and the long days of summer
invite you to reconnect with nature. You can enjoy a picnic on the bluffs overlooking the
Pacific, go surfing or kayaking, explore tidepools, hike at one of many coastal state and
county parks, or explore the Point Cabrillo lighthouse. Well, you can see the list goes on, but
whatever you choose, the scenery is spectacular. Then after playing in the great outdoors, you
can rejuvenate yourself with a relaxing hot tub and great massage at our spa.

On the Mendocino coast Fall often treats us to Indian Summer weather with warm days and cool evenings. It’s
a great season to walk along the headlands overlooking the Pacific during the day, or perhaps have a picnic
with some late season fresh blackberries you pick on the way. The ocean can be calm and glassy under the
bluest of skies, or sometimes we’ll get just a hint of those dramatic early storms that carve our
magnificent rugged bluffs. In the evening, enjoy a nice warm fire or a relaxing soak in a hot tub
and a great massage. As an added treat, the night skies offer great stargazing. When is the last
time you saw the Milky Way in all its magnificence? Check our specials page for seasonal discounts and special events.
